Make a Rain Barrel Class for 150 Arlington Residents
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

DESCRIPTION: Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water by capturing the pure rain water that garden plants prefer. With assistance from the Texas AgriLife Extension and City of Arlington Water Utilities Department, Arlington residents can apply to attend a “Make a Rain Barrel” class at Ecofest Arlington and leave with a rain barrel that you build for only $10. There is a limit of one rain barrel per residence. Apply now to learn how to design and install a rainwater harvesting system at your home! For questions, please contact Dustan Compton at dustan.compton@arlingtontx.gov or 817-459-6628.

COST: $10 for Arlington citizens with a residential Arlington Water Utilities (AWU) account. The reduced fee covers the cost of the 55 gallon rain barrel and materials. Make sure to have a vehicle large enough to take the barrel home. The barrel is 24 inches wide and 36 inches tall. If you are interested in participating, but do not have an AWU residential account, please contact Dustan Compton at dustan.compton@arlingtontx.gov or 817-459-6628. If space is available, the cost will be $40.

An application is required for selection, please use the link above.
A total of 150 rain barrels will be provided and there is a limit of one rain barrel per residence.
You are only eligible for a $10 rain barrel if you did not receive one last year.
Contact Dustan Compton if you would like to still participate at full price.
