Neighborhood Spotlight:
Parkview Addition |
In Parkview Addition, there's a
benevolence committee, a helping hands
committee, a grants committee, a
citizens on patrol committee, a
community watch committee and a
committee that sets up all the
committees. When you buy one of the
homes in this tree-lined,
curvy neighborhood nestled just north of
Abram Street and east of Meadowbrook
Park, you'll get a knock on your door.
That would be the welcoming committee. Read

Fiscally Strong
Bonds to Help Parks,
Streets, Fire Stations
|
Even during tough economic times, the City
of Arlington remains fiscally strong. The
City maintains favorable bond ratings and
low interest rates.
"In
this economy," said City Manager Jim
Holgersson, "it's nice to have a positive
story to tell." That story is the city's
selling of $38 million in bonds that
will fund improvements on streets, fire
stations, libraries and soccer fields at
Harold Patterson Sports Complex. The funds
will also raise the flood-prone Johnson
Creek Bridge on Abram Street.

the world,' says Artist

No
one is traveling farther than Norm Hines to
attend the Caelum Moor Dedication later this
month. Hines is coming from Fiji, some 6,738

"Wouldn't miss this for the world," Hines
said of the sculpture that took two years
and $1.5 million to complete. Hines is
