Are We Ready?
Special Events at New Stadium Begin
Saturday
|
With
the first special event at the Cowboys
Stadium less than four days away, the City
of Arlington and its partners in the
Entertainment District are
implementing traffic management plans for
moving an estimated 55,000-60,000 guests
expected here for the George Strait/Cowboys
Stadium Opening Concert on Saturday, June
6. This crowd is among Arlington's
largest-ever public gatherings. Public Works
and Transportation Department officials
say effective planning and coordination are
required to ensure safety for all
participants and spectators while avoiding
undue disruption of ongoing business and
residential activities in the district. Key
messages are: Experience Arlington. Arrive
Early. Stay Late. Get traffic updates at
www.arlingtontx.gov. As the new Stadium
opens, organizers of the Barbara Jordan
Media Awards Luncheon will be watching. On
June 12, the Stadium will host their
statewide event. Read

Park, Ride, Go
Arlington
Residents Have Commuting Alternatives
|
There
are 354 parking spaces at Arlington's South
Park and Ride Lot near Interstate 20. You'll
find 106 more at the North Park and Ride Lot
off Interstate 30. On most weekdays, a lot
of these spaces are filled with vehicles,
but not all of these motorists are parking
and catching The T to downtown Fort Worth.

getting around the Metroplex.

An Animal Success Story
Local Veterinarians
Donate to Animal Center
|
A
donation from a local veterinary clinic will
save lives and improve the adoption rate for
animals at the Animal Services
Center. Arlington city officials say the CBC
(complete blood count) analyzer will help
on-staff healthcare professionals evaluate
symptoms and diagnose health conditions of
sheltered animals. The $10,000 equipment was
made possible by Arlington-based Creature
Comforts. Drs. Barry Brier and Chris Jenkins
joined the City for a presentation on
Friday, May 29. District 2 City Council
member Sheri Capehart said the goal is
to adopt more animals into permanent homes,
"knowing as much as we can about the health
of the animal for a successful
adoption." See all that is new at the
Arlington Animal Services at www.arlingtontx.gov/animals
