morning when Linda Williams climbs
aboard the 6:50 a.m. bus at the
Arlington South Park and Ride Lot for
her morning commute into Fort Worth,
she's literally transformed. She's
"relaxed, detoxed and de-stressed."
Williams is an accountant who lives in
Arlington and works in downtown Fort
Worth office building. She's become a
regular on board The T that zips her to

Free Concert Series
Returns to Downtown Arlington
|
 After
a successful 2008 premiere season of
free concerts last fall, the Levitt
Pavilion Arlington re-opens May 30 for
its first full season of 50 free
concerts. The season opens with Melissa
Lawson, the Arlington mother who won
season six of NBC's Nashville Star,
the country music version of
American Idol. Multiple Grammy
Award winner B.J. Thomas (remember
Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head?)
will perform Friday, May 29, at the
Levitt's first benefit concert. He will
perform with the 36-piece Levitt Pops

Swearing-In Ceremony is May 26
|
On
Tuesday, May 19, the Arlington City Council
will canvass or officially certify the
results from the May 9 Election. Swearing-in
ceremonies are slated for May 26. According
to the City Secretary's Office, 10,962
Arlington voters cast ballots to re-elect
Dr. Robert Cluck as Mayor and City Council
members Robert Rivera, Kathryn Wilemon, Lana
Wolff and Gene Patrick. To view the results,

Mayor's Youth Commission
Looking for Leaders
|
The Mayor's Youth Commission has a
simple objective: create a voice for
young Arlingtonites. Create leaders,
good citizens and help teenagers make
wise choices. "We are youth focused and
youth led," says MYC president David
Duque, a junior at Arlington High
School. Mayors Youth Commission members
are looking for a few good leaders to
join them.
