'Just Doing the Right
Thing'

A
stalled car sitting in the turn lane might
not get much notice from the average
motorist. But Jose Soto noticed it. And, a
little girl is alive because of it. His
quick thinking saved a life. Now, he's one
of 21,000 residents trained in CPR. Click

The Big DTV Switch is Feb.
17 |
 The
switch to digital television is Feb.
17, for now. On Thursday, the Senate
passed legislation that would push
the Feb. 17 digital television
deadline to June 12. A House vote is
set for Tuesday. If the deadline
holds, television broadcasters will
on Feb. 17 shut off analog signals
and air only digital programming.
(The idea is to free up airwaves for
public safety networks and new
wireless services.) That means if
you rely on older analog TV sets and
antennas to receive broadcasts,
you'll have to upgrade to a digital
TV set, connect to cable or
satellite, or install a converter to
get signals. Click
here for additional information.
