EITC Awareness Day is Jan.
30 |
 Each
year, Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)
dollars help underserved individuals
and families preserve income. Yet,
more than $1 billion go unclaimed
because of limited awareness. This
is why Gov. Rick Perry has
proclaimed Jan. 30 as EITC Awareness
Day, with the hope of informing
taxpayers of this refundable
credit and free tax
assistance to help eligible workers
claim EITC and other tax
credits. For information on the
closest tax assistance center, call
United Way's information helpline at
2-1-1. Specialists are available 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. Visit
