COMMON VIOLATIONS :: JUNKED VEHICLES

Parking a junked motor vehicle in public view is a violation of City ordinance. The definition of a “junked vehicle” is as follows:

“Junked Vehicle” shall mean a vehicle that:

  1. is self-propelled and

    1. does not have lawfully attached to it an unexpired license plate, and

    2. does not have lawfully attached to it a valid motor vehicle inspection certificate; and

  2. is:

  1. wrecked, dismantled or partially dismantled, or discarded, or

  2. substantially disfigured, damaged, or disintegrated, or

  3. ruined, destroyed or demolished; or

  4. inoperable and has remained inoperable for more than:

  • seventy-two (72) consecutive hours, if the vehicle is on public property;
     

  • thirty (30) consecutive days if the vehicle is on private property.
