COMMON VIOLATIONS :: DOES A CODE VIOLATION EXIST?

Below are some issues about which Community Services receives complaints that are not actually violations.

  • Old and unattractive vehicles that have current registration or inspection stickers


Car in disrepair, but is not considered a junked vehicle

  • Window screens that are torn or not on houses
  • Toys placed in the front yard of a residence


Multiple toys in the front yard, but is not considered unclean premises

  • The number of vehicles associated with a property
  • The color of a residents house
  • The color of a residents fence or the materials used to build the fence


Fence materials are not regulated by City ordinance

  • Tall grass that is not in violation


Grass is less than 12 inches 

  • Signs


Political signs are allowed on private property if behind the ROW (10’) 

  • Vehicles that are not considered oversized


Motor home does not exceed 30 feet in length
