ECONOMIC INCENTIVES FOR BUSINESS :: I-20 CORRIDOR

I-20 Corridor Business Area Plan

The City of Arlington recently adopted the 2000 Interstate 20 Business Area Plan, which generally includes the area between SH 360, Bardin Road, Cooper Street, and Arbrook Boulevard.

The 1987 Comprehensive Plan identified the I-20 Business Area as one of the City’s employment centers.  In 1989, specific development policies and criteria were adopted.  Over the past decade, however, the I-20 Corridor experienced development pressure for uses identified as being inconsistent with adopted goals and policies.

As a result of several months of study and public participation, the City has developed new policies and a land use plan for the I-20 Corridor.  The 2000 I-20 Business Area Plan (including the land use plan) was formally adopted by the City Council on April 11, 2000.

Below are several links to key information regarding the 2000 I-20 Business Area Plan:

The complete Plan, including the existing conditions and details of all options considered prior to adoption, is available from the Department for $25.
