Steiner Displays Glorypark Preview Center and Marketing Models
Stewart Kirkham, Development Manager for Steiner + Associates, provided a behind
the scenes tour Friday morning for the Champion Arlington Leadership Council.
Part of the tour included viewing the Glorypark conceptual models that show the
future development around the Ballpark.
The preview center, located in the Rangers Ballpark, will be used to showcase
the project and market Glorypark to potential investors and business prospects.
The preview center houses the models and displays for retail, commercial and
residential development.
Phase One of the development is approximately 1 million square feet in size. It
includes Rangers Alley (a pedestrian street in front of the Ballpark), theaters,
bowling alley, music venues, full-service hotels and technology everywhere.
Several areas in Glorypark will host large video screens displaying electronic
advertising. It also includes a covered street for retail shopping, town center
and market place as well as two residential blocks that are adjacent to the
Ballpark.
Stewart indicated there is nothing like it anywhere else in the country. In
time, he believes that it will become a part of Arlington’s social fabric and
could well become the center for holiday traditions, special events and urban
living.
The next steps include a groundbreaking for Glorypark sometime later this fall
and the reopening of the Road to Six Flags just north of the Ballpark as part of
Phase One. Stewart said they plan on Glorypark being open by the fall of 2009.
