UT Arlington graduate business school named best value in North Texas A Dallas Business Journal-published article
tabbed UT Arlington’s graduate business school as the No. 1 value in
North Texas, according to a survey released earlier this week.
Decision Analyst, a major international marketing research and
consulting firm headquartered in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, named
UT Arlington’s graduate College of Business as the best value in a
27-county area. University of North Texas finished second. UT Dallas
finished third.
According to the survey, 900 adult participants were asked to choose
their first and second choices for the graduate business schools in
North Texas they thought offered the best value for the money.
The survey participants were either planning to attend graduate
business school, or were already college graduates. The survey asked
various questions about the “brand image” of different graduate
business schools in this region.
Dr. Dan Himarios, dean of the UT Arlington College of Business
Administration, said the value is enhanced through internationally
known faculty.
“It’s true that you can get a great graduate business education at
UT Arlington,” Dr. Himarios said. “And that is what makes UT
Arlington’s graduate business school such a great value.”
Jerry W. Thomas, president and chief executive officer with Decision
Analyst, said the three major state universities stand alone in
perceived value for the money.
“Of course, value perceptions are shaped by the expected quality of
the education relative to its cost,” Thomas said. “The way the
question was asked tends to penalize the graduate business schools
with lower awareness. That is, if a respondent knew little about a
school, it's not likely that he/she would choose that school as a
good value. That bias is the reality of the marketplace, however.”
