Revitalizing Neighborhoods City Breaks Ground on Luxury Town Homes
A new housing initiative near downtown Arlington has been
launched.
City officials participated in a ground breaking for the Center
Street Development Project, which is located in a targeted area
bordered by Randol Mill Road, Collins Street, Abram Street and Davis
Drive. The developer, T.P. Burleson, is constructing a row of five town
homes at the southwest corner of Center Street and Rogers Street.
The mix of single and two-story town homes is located within the
City’s Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area or NRSA.
According to Grants Coordinator Mindy Cochran, this NRSA was
created from the 2005-2010 Consolidated Plan process to improve
access to affordable housing and revitalize neighborhoods.
Three of the five town homes will be sold to homebuyers whose
households earn less than 80 percent of the area median income as
established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
For example, a family of four must have an annual income of less
than $50,700 to qualify.
The grounds will be fully landscaped and town home units will
range in size from 1,262 to 1,635 square feet. The property will
feature iron fencing and rear detached garages. The town homes will
face Center Street. Access will be available from Rogers Street.
This project is made possible by the City of Arlington’s HOME
program and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
