The Neighborhood Summit included four modules: Working Together to
Make Arlington Better; Neighborhood Asset Inventory; Neighborhood
Preservation and Youth Involvement.
The Summit opened with keynote speaker Tom Mosgaller, a
recognized leader in community and organizational development.
During the summit, participants gained greater insight into
what’s most important to neighborhoods, and how to identify assets
and resources for making their neighborhoods stronger and their city
better.
Citizens, elected officials, community leaders, faith-based
organizations and service providers learned about
Arlington’s Strong Neighborhood Initiative (ASNI) strategic
components and successful civic engagement efforts. Citizens
provided input on strengthening neighborhood partnerships, and committed to doing their part to help reinvigorate neighborhoods
through service on a city board, commission or by establishing a
neighborhood association, crime watch or citizens on patrol group.
