Youth Participate in Hands-on Responsible Pet Grooming Academy
Summer would not be complete without the annual Arlington Animal
Services Center Youth Pet Grooming Academy. This year, Community
Services Educator Chris Huff educated a total of 26 youth in
responsible pet grooming and ownership. Children ages eight through
17 participated in this fun, hands-on learning event. They spent
time washing, brushing, trimming nails, and socializing with
animals. Dogs from Dog Scouts of America,
and 2011 Pet Calendar celebrity “Leroy Brown” of
Respect A Bull,
Inc., received special
grooming attention.
Each year the Responsible Pet Grooming Academy for youth provides
a great summer activity at a nominal fee. Children dress to get wet,
and experience two hours of excitement and learning at the Animal
Services Center at 1000 S.E. Green Oaks Boulevard. Be watching the
Animal
Services website
for information about upcoming classes in 2012.
