North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee Unveils Economic Plans for Region
The North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee today unveiled its
logo and plans for presenting the most exciting Super Bowl
experience in history.
The news conference was held Monday at the new Cowboys Stadium. It
was the first public event since the NFL designated North Texas as
the host of Super Bowl XLV in February 2011.
The 45th league championship game will be played in the new Cowboy’s
Stadium on February 6, 2011.
“Our goal is to plan Super Bowl XLV to have the greatest economic,
entertainment and cultural impact of any Super Bowl in history,”
said Roger Staubach, chairman of the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host
Committee.
Arlington Mayor Robert Cluck was joined by Dallas Cowboys Owner
Jerry Jones and the mayors of Fort Worth and Dallas. City councils
and city managers from Fort Worth and Dallas were also present,
including 23 local convention and visitors bureaus.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase our region, its people and
places,” Cluck said. “What an exciting time for North Texas.”
The Host Committee has a key responsibility to recruit as many as
10,000 volunteers to staff its many events.
