Statue Will Honor All Veterans
Members of the Great Southwest Rotary and Arlington Veterans Park Foundation
accepted a $50,000 award during a special Check Presentation Ceremony on
Wednesday.
The $50,000 check from the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation will help the
foundation complete Phase II of a project that places a bronze casting of a
World War II soldier in Veterans Park.
During the ceremony at Veterans Park, Arlington Tomorrow Foundation President
Ron Wright said the monument will honor all veterans.
Rotary Member Joe Way, who is also a member of the Arlington Tomorrow Foundation
Board, told the crowd, “there is no greater honor than to answer the call for
service.”
The Great Southwest Rotary established the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation in
2006 with a vision to create a memorial dedicated to all veterans and their
families.
