Emergency Decals For Your Pets Now Available
Recovery oxygen masks for pets have become new standard equipment
on all Arlington Fire Department emergency vehicles. The masks are
designed to provide oxygen to animals, specifically large and small
dogs and cats rescued from a structure fire. Displaying a pet alert
decal in your windows can save your pets' lives.
To comply with the PETS Act, Arlington Animal Services sells
"Save My Pet" decals that residents can affix to a door or window to
alert emergency responders if they have pets or service animals in
each residence and properly accommodate them. Decals are available
for a fee of $5.00 at the Arlington Animal Services Center. Proceeds
will be utilized to purchase Diagnostic Medical Equipment. Residents
can check a box on the decal to specify the type (i.e. dog, cat,
bird, other) and quantity of animals in their homes.
